The robot still retains his basic original design from the days when his main function was to act as a security guard for the inhabitants of the now defunct Earth colony. That's not to say he hasn't made alterations of his own. In fact, while his two plasma arm-mounted cannons are visible for all to see, most of his weapons are hidden, ready to be deployed at a moment's notice.

The robot also has a great ability to adapt. This capability is what allowed the robot to surpass his own programming, to learn and evolve, and to continue to operate even after the demise of his human masters. Unfortunately, this learning evolution was also what made the robot abandon his original programming, including the command not to harm humans.

Today, acting very self-aware, the robot is more concerned with preserving his own "life" than any human's. He too needs water to continue operating. He uses it as a coolant, and to extract hydrogen fuel, a capability the robot himself devised.

The robot has a name. It is X2B-120368-030263, or just X2B for short, not that anyone will ever have a need to use it.

Neither this robot nor any of the other robotic marauders of the desert had anything to do with the mass death of the colonists. Something else killed them. You will find out what that was when the feature-length version of "Man vs. Woman" gets released.
